TO MY
CANCER SURVIVORS JOURNEY!
I
never thought that I would be adding another survivor story to this website, but
here I am, in the middle of another fight for my life! Why am I calling
this my cancer survivor's journey after only one year of treatment since
diagnosis, when they say you can only be called a survivor after five years of
being free of cancer? Well, because I am. In order to be a real
survivor you have to believe that you are, and I do. I survived the
illness when it was at it's worst, I survived the surgery, I survived the months
of chemotherapy and radiation therapy and all their side effects......and I will
survive the recovery and any possible recurrences, because that is what I am and
always will be, a survivor. I live by my motto.....*Faith Is The Light
That Leads Us Through The Darkenss* Basically, I just never give up.
My

Until
then I would like you to know these wise words of one of my oncologists, Dr.
Jeremy Sturgeon after
I told
him I had *Googled* my cancer at stage 4 and the prognosis was very
dismal.
He said,
"This is YOUR fight, not theirs. You will do as well as you think you
will, do not believe in any statistics but your own! The statistics your
are reading are old by the time you read them anyways. Keep
positive!"
I love
that man.
